The financial data of companies listed on Borsa Istanbul is actually publicly available. Through the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), every company's balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement are published free of charge. Despite this, the vast majority of individual investors make their investment decisions without reviewing this data.

The issue is not access, but interpretation. Opening a balance sheet and drawing meaningful conclusions requires accounting knowledge, familiarity with financial ratio analysis, and the ability to compare companies within the same industry. Most investors simply do not have the time or education to develop these skills.

Finkap is a fintech startup established to bridge this gap.

What does Finkap do?

Finkap is a B2C SaaS platform that automatically collects, processes, and transforms the financial data of 616 companies listed on Borsa Istanbul into an easy-to-understand format for investors. Users can view any company's financial statements, calculated financial ratios, and industry position from a single screen. All of this information is available through Finkap.

The platform consists of the following components:

KapAI — A financial assistant that allows users to ask questions in natural language. When a user asks a question such as, "How has this company's debt level changed over the last three years?", the system retrieves the relevant financial data and provides the answer along with charts and tables. KapAI is one of the most widely used features for investors performing fundamental analysis of BIST-listed companies.

Scorecard — An automated scoring system that evaluates the financial performance of companies. It assigns a score based on profitability, leverage, liquidity, and growth, enabling investors to quickly identify promising companies.

Ratio Analysis — Key fundamental analysis ratios such as P/E, P/B, ROE, ROA, and the current ratio are pre-calculated and presented for every company.

Stock Screener — A screening tool that lists companies matching selected criteria. Users can enter natural language queries such as, "Companies with a return on equity above 30% and low debt levels."

Industry Comparison — An analysis screen that compares a company's financial ratios side by side with those of other companies in the same industry.

Founders

Finkap was founded by CEO Arda Kaplan and CTO Ferkan Akyazıcı.

Arda Kaplan explains the platform's mission as follows:

"The biggest challenge for individual investors in Türkiye is not accessing financial data—it's making sense of it. Financial statements are public, but interpreting them requires expertise. We built Finkap to close that gap."

Who is it for?

The platform primarily targets individual investors who make long-term investment decisions based on fundamental analysis. Unlike technical analysis tools, it focuses on a company's actual financial health rather than price charts and technical indicators.

For users without a financial background who want to better understand the companies they invest in, KapAI serves as the ideal starting point. More experienced investors can directly use the ratio analysis and stock screening tools.

Access

Finkap operates on a freemium model. The free plan provides access to all platform features, with only the number of analyses being limited. The Premium plan offers unlimited analyses and unlimited use of KapAI.
